Quality Engineer

Purpose of the position

• Participate in the full New Product Introduction (NPI) quality planning process to ensure product quality from design to mass production, support buildup, implementation, and improvement of APQP and PPAP during early stage of product/process development.
• Lead 8D committee for customer complaint analysis and 8D report preparation for both NPI and MP projects, ensuring timely and effective closure for customer complaint/concern, working with all relevant functions to investigate, define and address root cause, and handling return material authorization (RMA) to reduce cost.
• Work closely with NPI&MP Process Engineering, Commercial, Operation, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and other cross-functional teams to achieve quality objectives.
• The position will support customer audits, IATF 16949 audits and VDA 6.3 audits.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Manage APQP activities for assigned programs such as PPAP, Quality gates, MSA, production sign off, safe launch etc.
• Lead 8D committee for customer complaint investigations and responses, including problem statement, containment actions, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions, prepare and submit 8D reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and customer satisfaction.
• Follow up and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions to prevent recurrence of customer issues.
• Work as the liaison between engineering, materials, purchasing, management, quality and production to ensure that new products meet quality and delivery goals.
• Serve as the primary Quality contact for the customer for new products and products during APQP.
• Evaluate impact on the product/process from new or existing: raw materials, processes, and/or equipment parameters 
• Track customer quality performance, Coordinate return material authorization (RMA) and customer quality issues to reduce quality cost.
• Participate in set up internal quality Architecture

Education & Experience

• Bachelor and /or above degree majoring in in a technical discipline such as Chemical, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering;
• Familiar with APQP, PPAP, SOP readiness, and mass production quality management.
• At least 3 years or above of Customer/New quality management and manufacturing experience in Auto, cover glass, or display module.
