The purpose of the Facilities Technician is to maintain the day-to-day operation of the facility and is a primary contact for emergency situations that affect the plant’s ability to operate for business. Additionally, the Facilities Technician will assess and consider daily 1) the safety of our employees, 2) the operation of our assets and 3) the service to our customers. This position will also coordinate outside contractors or vendors for various services.

Major responsibilities and tasks

  • Keep and sustain updated assets data base – multifunctional test
  • Acts as a first responder / contact for any building issues (climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, emergencies, and repairs)
  • Monitors contractor performance and works closely with outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed according to specifications.
  • May act as the project coordinator for all size projects including large scale repair and new facility construction projects
  • Assists with maintaining building security and immediately responds to building emergencies on a 24-hour basis
  • Assists the Facilities Manager in preparing the annual maintenance budget
  • Performs other maintenance duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager / Supervisor

Minimum Knowledge and Skill Requirements

Education

  • Technical degree completed minimum or equivalent

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment in a facility and/or maintenance role. Prior experience with project management and contractor management is a plus.

  • Experience in maintenance and technical support for electrical substations and related control systems

  • Experience in maintenance, repair, and control of compressed air systems (air compressors, compressed air system dryers, etc.)

  • Experience in control and maintenance of reverse osmosis systems

  • Experience in fire protection systems, jockey pumps, risers, etc.

  • Experience in electromechanical installations, water/electricity/air

  • Experience in 25TR-50TR air conditioning systems/chillers

  • Experience in kitchen equipment, electric/gas

  • Technical English

  • Availability for shift work/rotation
