Molding Technician

Purpose of Position.            

Responsible for leading the production plan changeovers to deliver quality parts for verification and process control. Provide technical support to shift for troubleshooting and problem solving. Ensure equipment and processes meet and maintain the operation running.

Responsibilities and tasks of the position.

• Coordinate a group of process technicians to balance workload based on production needs
• Lead report of findings within his shift with tool room, maintenance, production, Quality & Process Engineers for scheduling any tool work that is required  
• Monitor OEE metrics to minimize downtimes
• Able to elaborate a shift performance report with findings, trends and action plans

• Interaction with high complexity molds
• Assist in shut downs and start-ups 

• Responsible for molding machine set up including auxiliary equipment as related to the molding process
• Represent molding supervisor in special situations
• Monitor machines based on required documentation
• Interaction with EoAT system
• Perform process adjustments as needed 
• Ability to execute action plans based on mold condition
• Respond to machine alarms in a timely manner 
• Perform root cause analysis and ask for support from the core team
• Responsible for proper handling and care of all materials, molds and tooling 
• Responsible for clear and consistent communication between shifts in all groups

• Verify machines settings in conformance with the process sheet
• Ensure TPM and 5s requirements are being met at the mold / machine / area level  

Knowledge and Skill Requirements.

Education.

• Technical Degree or similar        

Work Experience

• 4+ years of experience on setup and changeover in mold changeover at injection molding environment
• Knowledge and operation of a diversity of equipment used to supply resin to injection molding machines (dryers, blenders, grinders, vacuum pumps, tilters, etc)   
• Knowledge and operation of a diversity of molding equipment in according with changes molds (Robot programming and usage: Sepro & Wittman, thermolator, hydraulic pump, etc)
