Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
As a Quality Engineering Supervisor, you will lead a team to ensure product quality and compliance with standards, driving continuous improvement through 5S, Kaizen, and lean methods. You will support staff training, oversee corrective actions, and apply statistical process control (SPC) techniques to monitor performance.
Additionally, you will analyze quality issues, implement reliable measurement systems like Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (GR&R), and work to optimize manufacturing costs while enhancing service, capability, and capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, and lean methods to elevate the organization's quality system.
- Facilitate compliance with relevant quality management system requirements through dedicated training support for staff.
- Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
- Leverage statistical process control (SPC) techniques to monitor Critical to Quality (CTQ) performance across processes effectively.
- Provide invaluable support for statistical analysis related to quality issues within engineering and production spheres.
- Develop foolproof measurement systems assurance using advanced tools like Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (GR&R).

Manage the Quality Management System (QMS), overseeing document control and calibration principles.

Drive cost-efficient manufacturing, improving quality, service, and operational capabilities.

Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal standards.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Drive efforts to achieve low-cost manufacturing, superior quality/service, and improved capability/capacity.
- Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation complies with requirements.
Must Have
Education
:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience

Additional certifications in quality management preferred

Strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development

Proven experience in quality control or a related field with a solid quality background

Demonstrated success in implementing and managing quality systems effectively

At least 3 to 5 years of experience in quality management expertise

Knowledge or familiarity with ISO 9001 and TL 9000 standards

Ability to lead teams in process error prevention and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Expertise in Quality Management Systems (QMS), including document control and calibration

Advanced conversational English for effective communication in international environments

Strong leadership and team management skills, fostering a culture of compliance and technical excellence

Effective presentation skills to convey complex quality concepts clearly
Work Experience:
- Previous experience in quality control or related field
- Demonstrated track record of success in implementing quality systems
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and TL 9000 standards is a plus
