Controls Engineer B




  • Administer and govern existing Cable Manufacturing Execution System and facilitate MES support being the PoC between the business core teams and Global MES team.
  • Govern HMI SCADA (GE iFIX) Integration and the systems interacting between them.
  • Provides high-level support to CMMS (Maximo) and participate/lead in projects related to this system.
  • Interact, collaborate and work in team-based activities with the Engineering team in regards system integration or when supported systems are involved.
  • Proactively develop and maintain documentation and supporting information regarding the function and interaction between all supported systems by the position.
  • Develop and maintain new programming code at SCADA and PLC levels to support existing infrastructure as well as to integrate additional systems or components into the SCADA environment.
  • Administer and Govern Existing Process Historian (OSI PI) and provides support to add new capabilities to this tool or encounter and fixing data recording and calculation errors within this platform.
  • Continuously improving and managing existing Downtime Tracking System (DTS) at the SCADA, Server-Side, Front-End and database standpoint.
  • Champion MEE and PCPD methodologies for systems improvement.
  • Collaborate in the different projects at plant and divisional level where his expertise in the existing systems is required.
  • Provide support to the Recipe management system and look for integration opportunities.
  • Transform existing data stored into valuable information using existing MI tools (such as Power BI, PI Vision, etc.).
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices to effectively accomplish technical assignments and projects.
  • Provide controls engineering in fiber optic cable manufacturing in support of production, continuous improvement, cost reduction, and productivity improvements.
  • Individual must be capable of executing project assignments, in a team-based environment, with minimal supervision





  • Mechatronic Engineering, IT Engineer degree or equivalent.                         
  • Minimum 2-4 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Fully bilingual.



Required Skills:

  • Experience in programming PLC (AB RSLogix, Controllogix, Siemens S7 and G&L).
  • Able to design, configure, and implement HMI programming
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods, systems, production processes, measurements, and controls systems.
  • Understanding of PLC/SCADA and programming capabilities.
  • Validated delivery of results through project and organizational leadership.
  • Use of Manufacturing Intelligence Tools.
  • Proven experience in use and/or administration of IMS systems.
  • Understanding on Server Management and Network infrastructure.
  • Visual Basic Programming Skills.


Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of cable manufacturing process and equipment
  • Manufacturing experience and ability to work in a manufacturing environment
  • Machine vision system experience
  • Knowledge of MES systems, VB.NET and PI is a plus
  • Project Management skills
