Sr. Process Engineer

- Purpose of the Position Sr. process engineer position for Corning Division Engineering process group.

Scope of work includes working with thermal and coating processes in Ningbo, China. Candidate must exhibit strong process engineering background and demonstrate ability to perform process problem solving through fundamental understanding.

- Day to Day Responsibilities

• Design and execute process improvement activities by coordinating with cross-functional teams including CM partner.

• Statistics analysis of experimental data to identify process upset root causes and propose process optimization. Utilize data analysis techniques to identify opportunity in cycle-time reduction, yield & OEE improvement, defect reduction, and new product process introduction.

• Identify critical process parameters and propose process control plan to achieve PCPD for the plant

• Report out key plant performance matrix and lead the process governance activities for Ningbo plant (submit process base case and change request in division level review meetings)

• Work on joint teams with development, engineering and quality team in a joint effort to deliver program objectives

• Transfer of technology to plant operations with full implementation of training and documentation systems (Standard Operation Procedures, Process Set-points) "

Education and Experience

• B.S. Degree in engineering - Chemical engineering, Material science, Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering are preferred

• Project management experience with ability to lead cross-functional teams

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing facility

• Minimum of 5 years process engineering (thermal and coating process engineering work experience is preferred)"

Required Skills

• Knowledge of process control/process discipline, SPC, and DOE

• Proficient in English and ability to communicate technically in written and oral are essential
