Day to Day Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for developing, interpreting and implementing financial concepts for Manufacturing financial planning and control in Budget/Forecast/Actual process.
  • Performs technical analysis to present Manufacturing performance and Cost. Gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, trended future requirements, operating forecasts, etc.
  • Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems. May refer to establish precedents and policies.
  • Exhibits strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong network for problem solving.
  • Participates in determining objectives of assignment.
  • Plans, schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Demonstrate influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.
  • Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations. Builds relationships and networks.
  • Effective cross-functional teamwork. Serves as resource to manage technical area of expertise.

 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (10 years) in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Prefer MBA and/or CPA.
  • 5 years of relevant experience; preferable Manufacturing/Cost Accounting experience
  • Controller experience (within or outside Corning) desired
  • Proven knowledge of US GAAP
