Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Lead an Engineering organization to support TP operating objectives in Safety awareness, continuous improvement culture of product and process fundamental understanding, operation sustainability and cost reduction.
• Understanding, communicating the individuals and departmental responsibilities in meeting Division’s business goals.
• Apply basic Manufacturing systems to achieve mfg Excellence.  In addition, understanding the capacity restraints, bottlenecks, and opportunity areas for the plant. Volunteer as process auditor
• Making efforts to listen to and understand the customer (both internal and external); anticipating customer needs; giving high priority to customer satisfaction.  Demonstrated ability to work with customer, understand and define product critical attributes, and understand product critical specifications.
• Providing leadership in problem-solving initiatives using an organized process, having an in-depth understanding of the following types of projects (new process, new equipment, construction, and development).  In addition, understanding and applying techniques to smoothly transition new products from development to manufacturing; change agent leadership
• Uses data, statistics, logical thought processes, and judgment to identify the critical technical challenges that must be addressed to achieve success. Is able to organize resources, on both a functional and project basis, into teams to address technical problems.
• Working with various parts of organization (customers) in adverse conditions, conflict resolution/Dimensions of leadership
• Experience implementing organizational, technical, system changes
• Experience in portfolio management – product, process, manufacturing
• Expertise in creating a division or unit vision and manufacturing strategy document
• Effective communications/People career path development

Education & Experience:

• B.S. Engineering degree, in Mechanical, Optical and Physical Engineering
• Strong project management skills.
• Plant / Fabrication experience in process or manufacturing
• Good problems solving and analytical capabilities (particularly statistical analysis).
• Excellent communications, interpersonal and influencing skills.
• High initiative, able to work with a minimum of direction, and able to work in team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to operate as a team player within a matrix organization. Utilizes technical knowledge and skills to influence
• Bilingual English / Mandarin.
• TOEIC 750 and above.
