Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

 

Engineering manager role while DMAIC, MEE, and PCPD full training with significant gap to practice in fundamental basic and methodology in problem-solving, instead of experience-oriented firefighting. One of Engineering manager’s role is to grow problem-solving capability of Engineering team for 3-5 year production readiness, reliable supply and continue cost reduction improvement.

 

  1. Lead an Engineering organization to support TP operating objectives in Safety awareness, continuous improvement culture of product and process fundamental understanding, operation sustainability and cost reduction.
  2. Understanding, communicating the individuals and departmental responsibilities in meeting Division’s business goals.
  3. Apply basic Manufacturing systems to achieve mfg Excellence.  In addition, understanding the capacity restraints, bottlenecks, and opportunity areas for the plant. Volunteer as process auditor
  4. Making efforts to listen to and understand the customer (both internal and external); anticipating customer needs; giving high priority to customer satisfaction.  Demonstrated ability to work with customer, understand and define product critical attributes, and understand product critical specifications.
  5. Providing leadership in problem-solving initiatives using an organized process, having an in-depth understanding of the following types of projects (new process, new equipment, construction, and development).  In addition, understanding and applying techniques to smoothly transition new products from development to manufacturing; change agent leadership
  6. Uses data, statistics, logical thought processes, and judgment to identify the critical technical challenges that must be addressed to achieve success. Is able to organize resources, on both a functional and project basis, into teams to address technical problems.
  7. Working with various parts of organization (customers) in adverse conditions, conflict resolution/Dimensions of leadership
  8. Experience implementing organizational, technical, system changes
  9. Experience in portfolio management – product, process, manufacturing
  10. Expertise in creating a division or unit vision and manufacturing strategy document
  11. Effective communications/People career path development
